Holly Willoughby has received a wave of support following her heartfelt message about the conclusion of Dancing on Ice. The ex-This Morning presenter expressed that it was “an absolute privilege” to host the beloved ITV skating show and shared her sadness at its departure, as ITV has decided to put the programme on hold with “no current plans for another series”.

Taking to Instagram, Holly, aged 44, posted a series of snapshots from the recent finale and throughout her time by the rink, writing: “A huge thank you to @itv, The brilliant team, crew, celebrities and everyone who has been part of our Dancing On Ice family over the last 19 years.
“Every year, just when January felt at its greyest, Dancing on Ice arrived like a burst of glittering, dazzling light, warm, joyful, and full of heart. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside true national treasures Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, and to have a front-row seat to their breathtaking skating”.

“Watching them glide across the ice was nothing less than pure magic…A special thanks must also go to Arnica, Deep Heat, shapewear and fake tan, unsung heroes of the rink! I will miss it hugely, but I count myself so lucky to have had it for as long as we did. Finally and most importantly, thank you to you for watching, you’re the BEST!”
Holly Willoughby, who’s been at the helm of the ice skating show since 2006 alongside Phillip Schofield until his departure from ITV in 2023 following an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a junior male colleague on This Morning, received an outpouring of love as she signed off from her presenting duties. The departure post didn’t take long to be inundated with encouraging words from her fans.
Close pal and All Saints star Nicole Appleton gushed: “Loved watching! ! And you were just beautiful! I’m going to miss your gorgeous dresses!!” TV host Kate Thornton chimed in with: “What a lovely sign off.”
Online tributes came pouring in, with user @hollywillsuk commenting: “This is sad news 🙁 will miss seeing your beautiful ball gowns every Sunday! hope we get a new show to replace.”
Meanwhile, @jo_conway_xx said: “I am really going to miss it. As you say it brightened up a miserable, dark two months. Thanks all for the memories.”
Further comments included @fionaxmc expressing sadness: “Very sad it’s all over… Loved a Sunday night brilliant show…” Not to be left out, @jenbukoo added: “Sad to see it go. Was one of my favourite programmes to watch and it did brighten the cold winter months.”
With sentiments echoed by @dilbert793 adding: “Huge fans from the start giving the Winter months sparkle and joy. Will miss everything about it- good luck Holly.”
The latest 2025 series of Dancing On Ice was presented by none other than Willoughby herself and co-host Stephen Mulhern, with Coronation Street’s very own Sam Aston and skating professional Molly Lanaghan winning the show.
After pausing post its ninth season in 2014, the programme made its return in 2018. An ITV spokesperson mentioned: “Following another successful series earlier this year, Dancing On Ice will be rested in 2026 with no current plans for another series.”
The spokesperson added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the cast and crew who have worked on the show since 2006, and over the previous 17 series, for all of their hard work both on and off the ice.”
