It is no secret that Bridgerton is the hottest show on Netflix. Based on Julia Quinn’s novel series of the same name, Bridgerton focuses on each Bridgerton sibling and who they marry in every season, and Season 2 centered on Anthony and Kate. As the eldest, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton had a duty towards his family, which he was ready to fulfill stoically until love got in the way.
Anthony had no intentions to marry for love, yet he could not resist himself when he met Kate Sharma. Their love story was a thorny one, determined by family dynamics, but the tension, angst, and passion were incomparable. Kate and Anthony, fondly known as Kanthony, had some of the most scintillating romantic moments in Bridgerton, which have continued into Season 3 of Bridgerton.
Updated by Fawzia Khan on June 6th, 2024: Bridgerton has returned with a titillating Season 3 on Netflix. Even with Colin and Penelope forming the main couple of this installment, Anthony and Kate keep their romance up in the newest episodes. Despite being married, the Viscount and Viscountess have some of the most romantic moments in Season 3, which have been added to this list.
15. Anthony’s Desires To Dance With His Wife At The Ball

Bridgerton Season 3, Episode 1 “Out of The Shadows”
While Anthony may not be the main Bridgerton sibling of Season 3, his love story with Kathani Sharma, now his wife, continues beautifully in the new installment. As Francesca makes her debut, Bridgerton sees a softer, calmer Anthony who allows his little sister to take a break, and himself as well — he chooses to steal his wife from Violet and take her for a dance.
With the tensions of duty and morality finally gone, the Season 2 couple is radiant on the floor, and Anthony makes hearts flutter when he steals a kiss in front of the whole ton while dancing with Kate. It was sweet to see that married life hadn’t taken the passion away from Anthony and Kate.
14. Kate and Anthony’s Love Scene Mirrors Their First Time

Bridgerton Season 3, Episode 1 “Out of The Shadows”
As Newton, Kate’s Corgi, runs up the stairs of Bridgerton House, Kanthony fans are allowed to peek into the beloved Bridgerton couple’s bedroom. There, Kate and Anthony are locked in an embrace that harks back to their first intimate encounter in the gazebo in Season 2. The couple are all set to make heirs but also have some fun, but Kate is eager to carry out her duties as Viscountess.
This scene feels intimate and very on-brand for Kate and Anthony, who haven’t lost their spark after marriage. In fact, they can’t keep their hands off of each other, and their comfortable, married love is just as exciting as their forbidden one.
13Kate Wants To Extend Their Honeymoon

Bridgerton Season 3, Episode 1 “Out of The Shadows”
Seeing how Kate and Anthony couldn’t really be themselves in the crowded Bridgerton House, Kate comes up with a rather romantic solution to their predicament — extending their honeymoon. With Benedict taking care of the estate and Violet still enjoying Viscountess duties, all Kate really wanted was to spend as much time as she could with her husband.
She pointed out very sweetly that they had all their lives to be Viscount and Viscountess, and Anthony agreed a little too quickly to an extended honeymoon. What follows is another impassioned scene between the lovebirds, much to fans’ delight.
12. Kate and Anthony’s Second, Heated Interaction

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 1 “Capital R Rake”
After a mysterious but hopeful first interaction between Kate and Anthony where they did not know each other, their second encounter was a lot more heated. While Kate was attracted to Anthony, she got angered by his remarks about women and marriage, which had been taken out of context.
What followed was a half-charming, half-frustrating back and forth between the couple, foreshadowing their upcoming enemies-to-lovers romance arc for the rest of the show. Anthony teased Kate that she found his smile charming, while she tried to tell him that she disagreed with him. All in all, it was the perfect start to the banter and chemistry between the two.
11Anthony Sniffs the Air When Kate Walks By

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 7 “Harmony”
By the time Episode 7 rolled around, Anthony was crazy for Kate. There was no denying that they both shared feelings, but Anthony’s resolution to never love and only carry out duty was fast crumbling under how deeply he felt for Kate. In one of the most loved moments by fans, Anthony stops to sniff the air after Kate passes him, just so that he could feel close to her.
Lady Danbury, Lady Mary, and Lady Bridgerton had forbidden Anthony from going near Kate, but he couldn’t help himself. Even her smell (“Lillies“) intoxicated the Viscount, and he didn’t mind losing some of his dignity to be near Kate. So romantic.
10. Kate Gets Stung by a Bee

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 3 “A Bee in Your Bonnet”
Anthony and Kate’s love story began, rather fatefully, with the sting of a bee. A bee sting was what had felled Anthony’s father, Edmund Bridgerton, so when Kate got stung, Anthony’s more feral instincts kicked in. Worried that Kate might also die like his father did, Anthony panicked, which made Kate and him get physically very close to one another.
The Regency Era was a time of no touching or intimacy between the two sexes at all. With these rules ingrained in Anthony, it was obvious that he had come to care for Kate deeply which was why he squandered propriety to make sure that she was okay. This romantic moment where Anthony worried for Kate’s safety, while she pacified him sweetly is what makes the show so very binge-worthy.
9. Anthony Teaches Kate How to Shoot

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 4 “Victory”
After their unexpected moment of weakness, Anthony and Kate tried to avoid each other, but to no avail. Edwina sent Kate off to shoot with Anthony and the other men, hoping that they could bond as future brother- and sister-in-law. However, sparks flew between the two as Anthony taught Kate how to shoot with a British gun, which she was unfamiliar with.
The sudden proximity between the two was heart-stopping, and Kate and Anthony couldn’t help but enjoy their closeness as he adjusted her posture and aim. Even with no overt physicality, the chemistry between the two was palpable. This was the start of their riveting enemies-to-lovers arc on the show.
8. Kate’s Speaks to Anthony in the Thunderstorm

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 4 “Victory”
Restless from their feelings and the ongoing thunderstorm, Kate and Anthony both decided to go to his father’s library in the middle of the night. This was the first time when the future husband and wife spoke about their childhoods and histories, deepening their bond beyond just the physical aspects.
Kate found out that the reason why Anthony panicked about the bee sting was because his father had died from a reaction to it, while Anthony learned that Kate was afraid of thunderstorms. It was an extremely emotionally vulnerable moment for both of them, as well as one of conflict because Kate had come to Aubrey Hall to get Edwina betrothed. Before anything could happen between them, she slipped away, but Bridgerton still broke fans’ hearts with this evocative scene.
7. Anthony Finds Out Kate Is Leaving for India

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 4 “Victory”
Till this scene, Anthony’s feelings for Kate had still been unclear. He was still courting her sister, but when Edwina forced Kate to dance with him at Aubrey Hall so that they could chat about Anthony’s proposal to Edwina, things took an unexpected turn. When Kate mentioned that she was going to return to India after Edwina was wed, Anthony was overcome with emotion.
In a manner atypical to him, he marched into his study. Anthony was visibly upset by the fact that Kate intended to leave the country forever, which led to them almost kissing. Anthony questioned Kate in this sultry encounter about whether she cared for him or not, but Daphne walked in on the two of them. This was the moment where it was amply clear that Anthony loved Kate.
6. The Engagement Ring Gets Stuck on Kate’s Finger

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 5 “An Unthinkable Fate”
With his delusional ideas about duty and love, Anthony proposed to Edwina despite his affections for Kate. However, upon their return to London, the two had another fateful encounter that seemed to foreshadow their future. In the absence of Edwina, the jeweler insisted on making Kate wear the Bridgerton betrothal ring so that he could check the fit, following one of the best romantic tropes.
Even as Kate slipped it onto her finger, the couple were mesmerized by how it fit Kate perfectly, as if it were made for her. Anthony couldn’t help but let his hand linger on her hand which wore his ring, betraying just by his looks how much he wanted it. Enjoyably enough, the ring did get stuck on Kate’s finger, making for an awkward but romantic moment that was savored by both her and Anthony.
5. Anthony Stands up for Kate and Calls her The Bane of his Existence

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 5 “An Unthinkable Fate”
Lady Mary and Edwina’s grandparents, the Sheffields swooped into London to meet the to-be-weds, but Anthony could not stand it when they disrespected Kate and her family. Even when the Viscount felt that he had been hoodwinked by the Sharmas for the stipulations of Edwina’s marriage, he could not bear to see Kate being insulted by the Sheffields, which was why he immediately told them off and uninvited them from the wedding.
Anthony wanted to call off the wedding in the aftermath, but Kate insisted that he would ruin Edwina if he did. It was at this moment that Anthony passionately let Kate know that she was the object of all his desires and not Edwina. Marrying her sister would only make him more lovelorn for Kate, and he let her know through swoon-worthy touches and embraces that he would not be able to be a gentleman with her for very long.
4. Kate and Anthony’s First Kiss

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 6 “The Choice”
Edwina and Anthony’s wedding ended in disaster — she found out that Kate and Anthony had feelings for each other, and left the Viscount at the altar. It was at this very altar that Kate and Anthony, unable to bear the tension between themselves any longer, shared a scorching kiss for the first time.
After episodes of slow-burn and simmering tension, the kiss was as romantic as it was steamy. It was clear that Kate and Anthony had yearned to touch each other for a long time, and it was only apt that they fulfilled their desires after the wedding was called off. At this point, they both felt that it was the end of their story, which added to the tenderness and urgency, both, of their first kiss.
3. Kate and Anthony’s First Time

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 7 “Harmony”
The much anticipated moment of Kate and Anthony’s first time was deliciously intense and impassioned, on the heels of both Kate and Anthony disappointing their families. Their famous tempers clashed as they met in a gazebo, but this time, their enmity turned to desire and they finally did something for themselves, for once, instead of thinking about their families.
Kate and Anthony were fiery and heated, yet warm and tender with each other. Unlike the previous season, their intimate scenes were littered with subtle sensuality like peeling off a glove or Anthony appreciating the smell of lilies. It was the perfect payoff to so many episodes of romantic tension.
2Anthony Saves Kate

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 7, “Harmony” and Episode 8 “The Viscount Who Loved Me”
In heroic fashion, Anthony followed Kate as she rode on her horse in bad weather, and then rescued her when she got injured in the fall. This moment was an incredibly painful mirroring of how Anthony had lost a loved one in front of his eyes, but it was also romantic because of how gallantly he saved Kate from a terrible fate.
Anthony’s worry for Kate was evident when he was by her bedside until he could not bear to see her in such a terrible state anymore. Something broke in him when he was faced with the possibility of losing Kate forever, and it brought out a much softer, vulnerable side that fans loved to see after an entire season of bravado.
1. Kate and Anthony’s Featherington Ball Dance and Declaration of Love

Bridgerton Season 2, Episode 8 “The Viscount Who Loved Me”
When it seemed as though Anthony and Kate would never be able to get together without raising eyebrows, the couple defied all expectations by dancing with each other at the Featherington Ball. Even as couples started whispering about them and leaving the dance floor in shame, Kate and Anthony only had eyes for each other. They knew that nobody else mattered in their shackled society.
Kate and Anthony thought that this was their last dance, but their declarations of love changed everything. Anthony told Kate that he adored her and wanted to marry her, to which she responded positively, surprising him. Kate cancelled all her plans to return to India, finally giving in to love and all its wondrous joys.
