Two off-duty police officers ran to help the boy after he was allegedly struck by a Volkswagen SUV about 4.30pm on Monday at the intersection of Abbott and Pitt roads at North Curl Curl, in Sydney‘s north.

A 15-year-old threw the same water bottle back at the car, missing the vehicle.

The teenager followed the SUV and blocked it at an intersection, allegedly prompting the furious driver to ram the teen.

Footage showed the vehicle reversing, revealing the teenager stuck underneath.

The boy lyibng on the nature strip near his bike yelled, ‘He ran me over. He ran me straight over’.

A pair of off-duty officers and several members of the public attempted to stop the driver, but they drove away from the scene.

The 15-year-old was airlifted to hospital with serious leg injuries but in a stable condition.

‘It’s just a shocking thing to happen in a quiet street like this, especially involving a young kid on a bike,’ a resident told 9News.

A 38-year-old man hours later handed himself in at Dee Why Police Station and was transferred to Manly Police Station.

He was charged with driving furiously in a motor vehicle, causing bodily harm, negligent driving and driving while a licence application has been refused.
