A new documentary about Madeleine McCann has unveiled potentially pivotal evidence suggesting Christian Brueckner as the leading suspect in the longstanding case.
The film delves into circumstantial details found within his hideout, reinforcing the theory that the German is the main suspect since Madeleine’s disappearance in 2007. Since Madeleine vanished while on a family trip to Portugal’s Algarve over two decades ago, substantial leads have been scarce.
However, the probe highlights alarming discoveries at Brueckner’s derelict warehouse, including his vile fascination with minors. The documentary ‘Madeleine McCann: Inside the Secret Evidence’ examines indirect evidence, such as child swimwear and infants’ toys discovered at his premises. According to The Sun’s film, authorities also located a disguise, firearms, and deeply disturbing narratives of child abduction authored by Brueckner.
“A very small girl enters the room,” he wrote. “She’s definitely not older than five. Blonde, long hair tied in pigtails bounces cheekily back and forth as she comes towards me. I feel like I’m in paradise right now.”

One distressing story believed to be composed by Brueckner detailed the application of chemical ether on a mother and her young child near a nursery. Additionally, the documentary aired the previously unpublicised detail of an 80gb hard drive possibly crucial in compelling detectives to focus on Brueckner, reports the Mirror.
The hard drive placed Brueckner at the centre of the search location in Arades Dam, Portugal. The documentary also disclosed that Brueckner expressed a desire to “capture something small and use it for days.”
He further threatened that it wouldn’t matter if “evidence is destroyed afterwards” before adding: “I’ll make a lot of films…hehe.”
Police records indicate a significant advancement in understanding the case since German police identified Brueckner as the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case in 2020.

The documentary also revealed Brueckner’s refusal to answer police questions or provide an alibi. He has not been formally charged in connection with Madeleine’s disappearance or murder.
The programme also included an interview with Hazel Behan, 41, an Irish holiday representative whom Brueckner was acquitted of raping in 2005 during a trial in Germany last year. The documentary unveiled details outlining investigators’ concerns that Brueckner might take what he knows to his grave without providing any closure.
The most recent search for clues related to Madeleine McCann’s case took place over three days last week in Praia da Luz, close to where Brueckner is known to have camped.
German investigators, assisted by Portuguese police, were seen using diggers and radar to probe the ground. However, despite these efforts, nothing of significance was found.
