Great news for Stephen Curry and Chris Paul! Warriors announce their first star signing for the upcoming season

Golden State Warriors fans are still left with a bitter taste after the team was eliminated from the 2025 NBA Playoffs, having to play four of the five games in the semifinal series without Stephen Curry. However, there’s finally some good news with the arrival of the team’s first reinforcement for the upcoming season.

Once again, it became clear that the Golden State Warriors lack size when it comes to making a difference with a big man who can defend well and contribute on offense. That’s why Mike Dunleavy Jr., the team’s general manager, didn’t hesitate to address this need after being eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“You can get bigger, more athletic, better at shooting, passing, and defending. We can improve in many areas, knowing that we’re well established and strong in some. We’ll try to do that. We definitely can. We’ll look into trades. We’ll look into free agency,” said Dunleavy Jr., sparking hope for new additions to support Stephen Curry.

Even though the narrative suggests that the Warriors are going after reinforcements, the good news for Curry and Jimmy Butler regarding the first addition for the 2024–25 NBA season isn’t about a player. They’ll have a new staff member who will help them maximize their abilities as they aim to win the title.

“Steve Kerr’s son is the newest member of the Warriors’ NBA coaching staff. Nicholas Kerr joins the NBA team’s coaching staff after spending the last two seasons as head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G-League,” posted the ‘NBA en ESPN’ account on X, confirming that Golden State’s first reinforcement will be a new addition to the coaching staff.

The two players most likely to leave the Golden State Warriors

With Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler guaranteed two more years on their contracts, the current Golden State Warriors roster has Gary Payton II and Kevon Looney as the two players most likely to leave the team, as both have become NBA free agents.
