A 23-year-old British man has been arrested in France and charged with murder two years after a dad, aged 38, was found stabbed to death in Norwich.
Jahziah Harrison, of Northampton Park, London, appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court after being arrested by French police earlier this month. Three further arrests have also been made in Islington, London, in connection with the incident.
On Friday 2 August 2024 officers were called to reports a man had been stabbed. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man – later identified as 38-year-old Oliver Payne – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nearly two years on from the incident police have issued a major update in the case. A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: “A 23-year-old British man has appeared in court charged with murder of a man in Norwich, having been arrested in France and returned to the UK.
“Jahziah Harrison aged 23 and of Northampton Park, London appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday 21 July 2026 and was charged with the murder of Oliver Payne in Paragon Place, Norwich, on 2 August 2024.
“He was also charged with manslaughter, possession of a bladed article, two counts of drug supply offences and perverting the course of justice.
“The charges relate to an incident on Friday 2 August 2024 when officers were called to reports a man had been stabbed. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man – later identified as 38-year-old Oliver Payne – was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He was further charged with a second count of possession of a bladed article, two counts of grievous bodily harm, two counts of drug supply offences in relation to a separate incident.
“On 6 July 2026, the French authorities arrested Jahziah Harrison and began the legal process to return him to the UK on Monday 20 July 2026. Today (Tuesday 21 July 2026), he has been further remanded into custody and is next due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 1 February 2027.
“Three further arrests have been made in Islington, London, in connection with the incident. On Friday 17 July 2026, two women aged in their 20s and a woman aged in her 60s were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They were all taken to Wood Green Police Investigation Centre for questioning and have since all been released under investigation.”
