A teenage girl has died and four others are fighting for their life after a house fire north of Brisbane.
Neighbours heard explosions and screams as flames engulfed the home north of Brisbane in minutes.
Four people – two teenagers, a man and a woman – escaped from the flames in Lawnton. They were all in a critical condition in hospital.
Neighbour John McWha said the “whole place just exploded”.
Terrifying pictures from next door showed how thick and dark the smoke was before the roof caved in.

Neighbours told 9News those who made it out of the house were being splashed with water, in an attempt to cool their burns.
9News understands a teenage girl was found dead inside.
Investigators are now left with the painstaking task of combing through charred remains.

They’re looking into reports a lithium-ion battery from an e-device may be to blame.
The four people who escaped were rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious burns and were still receiving treatment.
