This week on Reuben Owen’s Channel 5 programme Life in the Dales, the youthful business whizz tackles a massive task as he gears up for his birthday bash.
A sneak peek of the episode, airing on Tuesday evenings, shows Reuben and his mates embarking on a vintage tractor voyage with the aim of driving a 60-year-old tractor from Yorkshire Dales to the Whitby coast.
Things seem to hit a snag in the taster shared with viewers on X. Caught on camera atop his tractor, Reuben confesses: “I’m very nervous!”
Narration in the footage details: “The six tractors are all battered veterans, so pushing them flat out up a steep incline puts their aging engines at serious risk of malfunction.”
As Reuben’s friends also face the daunting hill, we see one of them cheering the old machine on, reports Leeds Live.

But as Reuben’s tractor approaches the journey’s end, it takes an unfortunate turn when the budding star is heard highlighting the engine’s rising heat.
Further along in the preview, steam billows from his tractor’s motor at roadside, prompting laughter from one of his mates.
Concluding the voiceover insightfully remarks: “You don’t have to be a mechanic to know that tractors are not supposed to be steaming like the Flying Scotsman.”
Ultimately conceding defeat, Reuben admits: “I think that’s the end of my run. So close, so close!”

On Reuben’s show last week, viewers learned about a medical emergency that resulted in his brother Miles being airlifted to hospital.
The teenager had developed DKA, diabetic ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition where a lack of insulin leads to dangerously high levels of ketones in the blood.

Reflecting on the distressing incident, his father Clive confessed: ” I think, probably one of the worst days of my life, I think you could safely say. Scary day.”
Clive allowed Miles to sleep in a bit longer the next morning, noting how unwell he had felt the previous day.
Describing the state his son was in when he found him, Clive added: “He was laid out on the stairs, halfway down the stairs, couldn’t stand. His head was back, and he was struggling to breathe. You could see there was something majorly wrong here. So, panic stations.”
