A Scene No One Expected — Mu-rder Probe Launched After B0dy Discovered on Remote WA Bush Track

A homicide investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in bushland in a town north of Perth on Sunday night.

The 27-year-old was found dead on the gravel path near a residential area of Yanchep, 56 kilometres north of Perth, at around 6.40pm.

Emergency crews arrived and declared him dead at the scene.

Forensics officers spent hours combing the bush track for any clues into how the young man came to be there. (9News)

A forensic crew quickly closed off the stretch of bushland on Firke Bend near Grampians Loop as they combed the area for clues.

Officers remained at the scene for more than 12 hours.

Detectives went door-to-door speaking to residents and searching CCTV for clues as to how the man came to be on the track.

Some residents told 9News they heard yelling between two men in the bushland shortly before emergency crews arrived.

Anyone who has information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, relating to this incident is being urged to contact police.
