A viral video shared on X claims Whoopi Goldberg purportedly walked off the set of ABCâs âThe Viewâ following an âexplosive debateâ with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Goldberg returned to âThe Viewâ on Feb. 24 after missing three episodes due to the flu, according to Newsweek. Goldberg described the flu as âawfulâ during the same episode, the outlet reported.
The X video, which has received over two million views as of writing, claims Goldberg purportedly walked off the set of ABCâs âThe Viewâ following an âexplosive debateâ with Leavitt.
According to the videoâs narration, Leavitt purportedly appeared on the latest episode of âThe Viewâ to discuss the âcurrent state of American politicsâ and âthe younger generationâs interest in the Republican Party.â Goldberg purportedly walked off set after clashing with Leavitt on the subject.
âWhoopi Goldberg WALKS OFF The View During Explosive Debate With Caroline [sic] Leavitt,â text superimposed on the video reads. The video bears a label indicating it originally stems from TikTok user @david.paul931. A similar iteration of the claim can be found on the same userâs profile.
The claim is false. Leavitt is not included in the list of guests slated to appear on âThe Viewâ between Feb. 24 and 28. In fact, Leavitt has never appeared on the daytime talk show throughout the course of its 29 seasons, according to the Internet Movie Database.
Likewise, Leavitt does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim via her personal%20lang%3Aen&src=typedquery) or government X accounts%20lang%3Aen&src=typedquery). Goldberg has not mentioned the claim, either. In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Feb. 25, Lead Stories debunked the claim.
Check Your Fact contacted a spokesperson for âThe Viewâ regarding the claim, and they declined to comment on record.
