It was 11:47 p.m. on a rainy Pacific Coast Highway — the kind of night when headlights blur, and cell service cuts out. A young pregnant woman, Dani, 19, was slumped over the steering wheel of her old Corolla, pulled to the shoulder with a burst tire and a burst appendix, though she didn’t know it yet.
She was alone. In pain. Six months pregnant. No roadside help. No one stopping.
Until a sleek black SUV slowed beside her.
The window rolled down.

She stayed.

A fully paid apartment lease for the next 12 months.
“For you and your little one to have the fresh start you deserve,” the note read. “Love, Meghan.”
