“Meghan doesn’t care about the haters in Britain. Americans thought the twerking video was hilarious and relatable,” one source said.

Meghan Markle thinks her cheeky twerking video has done its job, and her camp is claiming it was a “huge hit.”
The throwback video shows a heavily pregnant Meghan with Prince Harry in her maternity suit dancing to Starrkeisha’s viral anthem Baby Mama, a tune that includes the line, “I’ve been pregnant far too long,” to try and bring on labor when pregnant with Lilibet.
While Markle was widely mocked on social and traditional media, the video also garnered hundreds of thousands of likes.
“Meghan is very pleased with the video,” a source close to the Sussexes told the Daily Mail. “In the U.K., everyone’s reaction has been a bit prudish, but everywhere else, particularly in America and especially with young people, it has been a huge hit.”
The source added: “She and her team count [the video] as a ‘win,’ which can only be a boost for sales. Her new products are marketed at Americans and not at the U.K. market.”
Markle is reportedly due to have another go at launching a commercial brand later this month with the launch of a rosé wine.
The new media offensive from Markle is likely connected to the recent hiring of Meredith Maines from Google as her chief communications officer.
Also this week, Meghan shared a montage from a family trip to Disneyland to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday. The two-day outing featured Harry and Markle in Mickey Mouse ears, Lilibet clutching plush toys, and a towering Little Mermaid-themed cake. “Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!” she wrote.
Indeed, new wholesome images are now being posted almost every day.
Some commentators have suggested that Markle and Harry’s estrangement from swathes of their own families (see below) might preclude them from effectively convincing the public of their identity as a perfect American family.
Harry did discuss changing the family name to Spencer
The extraordinary story—covered by The Royalist last week—that Prince Harry considered changing his family name to Spencer was confirmed by sources in his camp this week.
But it seems the change was explored due to “repeated delays by British officials to issue passports for their children,” according to a report in The Guardian.

Harry’s uncle, Diana’s sister, Earl Spencer, was “enthusiastic and supportive of the name change,” the paper said.
However, the United Kingdom passport authority eventually issued the passports after “lawyers for the Sussexes sent a letter threatening to pursue a data subject access request,” the Guardian says.
Happy families, eh?
