Keith Urban Makes His Thoughts on Taylor Swift Very Clear

Urban didn’t hold back.

Before she became a 14-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift rose to fame opening for country music legend Keith Urban.

During an interview in late 2024, Urban admitted even back then he was blown away by Swift’s ability and made sure he had a special seat in the house any time she was set to perform.

“I always stood up front and watched her sing, and I’m like, ‘Oh she is singing way off into this other thing,’” he said. “You could see it. She was playing way past where she was already.”

Fast forward a few months and Urban is back in the headlines following a comment he made about the record-setting Eras Tour performer. In a recent media appearance he admitted he wasn’t a fan of her Reputation album at the time of its release in 2017, but he’s come around in recent years.

“She’s insanely talented and ahead of her time. I remember hearing Reputation when she made it as a record, and I was like, I’m not sure about this record blah blah blah… cause I’m a fan. I was like, it’s not it for me. Then, years later, coming back to it, I love the record. So sometimes, she’s way ahead of the curve,” he said.

Swifties in the comments section understood exactly what he was talking about.

“So many of my swiftie friends said they HATED rep when it came out and thought i was crazy to like it. Now they’re all excited for rep TV,” one person said.

“the same thing happened to me !! rep wasn’t my favorite, then a year later i decide to attempt to listen to it all the way through and i LOVED it,” added another.

“he’s so real cause i also felt the same way about rep and then when i revisited it a few years after i loved it,” offered a third.

Swift’s fans are widely expecting Reputation to become the latest redux from the billionaire artist.
