Karoline Leavitt may be making headlines these days as Donald Trump’s press secretary, but in the summer of 2023, she dipped her toes into an entirely different scene- fitness influencing. Though short-lived, her brief stint on Instagram certainly turned heads, especially when she posted a clip that showed off not only her workout routine but also her visibly toned abs.

In an August 2023 video, Leavitt hit the gym in a crisp white sports bra with a unique inverted V-cut under the bust and paired it with black leggings featuring a crossover waistband. The flattering design drew plenty of attention, but the caption revealed much more than a love for activewear. “I believe it is a privilege to take care of ourselves — mentally and physically,” she wrote , alongside a glowing endorsement of the brand behind her outfit, Yakkem Apparel. Leavitt didn’t shy away from politics, either, criticizing major brands like Nike and praising Yakkem for its conservative values and U.S.-based operations.

Fitness Meets Politics

Leavitt’s fitness post wasn’t just about reps and abs. It served as a statement. “Most of the workout apparel brands that I have always loved have gone WOKE,” she wrote, pointing to Nike’s use of male models for women’s sports bras as a breaking point. She offered a discount code for Yakkem Apparel, calling their products “seriously AMAZING.” While that code no longer seems to work and the outfit isn’t listed on the brand’s site anymore, the message behind the post stuck.

About a month later, she posted a second fitness look in a vibrant blue set from Booty by Brabants. Unlike her earlier post, she skipped the lengthy caption and promotional code. Instead, she simply tagged the brand. There was no official sign of collaboration from Booty by Brabants, and the brand didn’t repost her photo or follow her account. Still, Leavitt kept following them, suggesting no hard feelings.

Whether she stepped away from the influencer life by choice or got too busy, it’s clear Leavitt didn’t build her brand on activewear. With a high-profile job and political visibility, it seems she chose to stick to what she knows best. But for a brief moment, she gave the internet a glimpse of her passion for fitness, and a killer set of abs to prove it.
