Jelly Roll is on quite the, well, roll, so it seems he chose the right artist moniker. The multi-genre singer-songwriter has been racking up quick bestsellers lately, as he becomes more and more popular, especially when it comes to other acts looking for a duet partner.
As promotion of his own album Beautifully Broken, released last fall, dwindles, the superstar has teamed up with a number of other well-known figures, especially in the country space, and has now collected back-to-back winners. He even manages to replace himself at No. 1 on a Billboard chart, something even he thought might have been impossible only a year or two ago.
“Amen” With Shaboozey Becomes an Instant Hit
Jelly recently joined breakout star Shaboozey on the track “Amen,” which is featured on the deluxe edition of the latter act’s Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going. That breakout set produced the single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which tied the all-time record for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Hot 100, with 19 frames – in addition to its incredible run on Billboard’s country rankings.
While “Amen” has not yet been chosen as a single from the deluxe edition, fans have selected it as a favorite. This week, the track arrives on multiple Billboard charts, and it manages to become an instant bestseller.
Jelly Roll Replaces Himself at No. 1
“Amen” launches highest on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, opening at No. 1. Just last week, Jelly debuted “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake atop the same tally. This frame, it drops one space, making room for “Amen.” Jelly not only replaces himself at No. 1, but he also occupies the top two spaces on the list of the bestselling country-only tracks in America.
Jelly Roll Doubles His No. 1 Total in a Month
Throughout his career, Jelly Roll has collected four No. 1s on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. He’s doubled his total number of leaders in just the two weeks. Before both “Amen” and “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” he earned a pair of winners in 2023 — first with his own “Need a Favor” and then alongside Jesse Murph on the tune “Wild Ones.”
Shaboozey Scores His Second No. 1
Shaboozey earns just his second leader on the Country Digital Song Sales ranking. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” dominated for an incredible 33 frames out of the 55 it has thus far spent on the list. He has only pushed five tunes to the ranking, and all of them have cracked the top 10, with “Good News” reaching as high as No. 3.
Jelly Roll and Shaboozey Dominate the Country Sales List
Both Jelly Roll and Shaboozey occupy several spaces on the Country Digital Song Sales chart this time around. Shaboozey sits at Nos. 1 and 3 with “Amen” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” respectively. “Good News” drops from the top 10 to No. 13, while “Blink Twice,” which peaked at No. 10, reenters, as his collaboration with Myles Smith lands at No. 14.
Jelly also occupies four positions on the list. “Amen” and “Hard Fought Hallelujah” claim the top two spots. At the same time, his previous single “I Am Not Okay” holds at No. 9 in its forty-seventh week on the tally, while “Liar” drops one space to No. 12.
