Princess Eugenie is said to have formed an alliance with Prince William over their shared passion for the environment — a bond that has subtly reshaped the dynamics within the royal family behind closed doors.

The princess, 35, has recently strengthened her friendship with William and Kate Middleton, at a time when her once-close relationship with her cousin Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appears to have waned.

As reported by The Post this week, the future king, who has long-championed a leaner monarchy, is crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals.

Experts have long said that William, 42, could call his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, into action once he becomes king.

Palace sources told The Post that the sisters are “well aware” of the plans William has in store for them.

William and Eugenie’s strengthened friendship has become increasingly visible at various royal events.

While Beatrice and Eugenie — whose parents are Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson — aren’t working members of the royal family, the duo often steps up in an unofficial capacity when needed.

Last month, the pair hosted a series of garden parties at Buckingham Palace, shortly before the King’s Foundation announced Eugenie as a mentor for its new “35 Under 35” network of change-makers.

Both royals have made marine protection central to their public work, leading to a natural closer bond, Hello! Magazine reports.

Bound by their shared commitment to protecting the world’s oceans, the cousins have also found they make a great team — both on and off the water.

As a result, Eugenie has grown more distant to the Duke of Sussex, 40, given his long-standing feud with the Windsor clan.

“Eugenie has been supportive of Harry and Meghan for years and was right there at the beginning of their relationship — but it has now soured,” a source previously told the Sun.

She’s seemingly the only royal who has visited the couple at their sprawling mansion in the Golden State, and was even featured in their 2022 Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.”
