An actor who has appeared in numerous episodes of Coronation Street announced that their final episode would air this week, ahead of their character’s last scene

A Corrie actor has announced they have left the show
A Coronation Street actor has announced that they have already filmed their final scenes for the soap opera. They shared the news with fans on social media just a few days ago ahead of their “very last” episode, which has now aired.
Scott Anson has played Reece Bolton on the ITV show since the character made his debut in 2022. He’s been in more than 20 episodes since then. The actor however announced on Instagram recently that his last episode would air on Wednesday night, with his character making a return.
The character Reece was introduced on Corrie three years ago as a member of a far-right extremist gang that was led by Griff Reynolds (played by Michael Condron). The group’s activities included grooming Reece’s daughter Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Max Turner (Paddy Bever).
Reece later ended up in prison and has appeared on occasion in more recent years. Lauren and Max visited him last year, for example, and he then returned again for the storyline involving his daughter’s disappearance.
It was announced earlier this year that actor Scott would reprise his role once again on the show. It was teased ahead of Wednesday’s episode that his character Reece would receive another visit from Lauren whilst he’s still in prison.
Sharing a post from another account about his return, which included photos from Lauren’s reunion with her father, former cast member Scott wrote in a post on Instagram this week: “Catch my very last ep as Reece Bolton.”

Scenes that aired on Wednesday night showed Lauren visiting her father Reece in prison after receiving a package for her son Frankie Bolton which contained a letter. Reece later shared that he had sent a kangaroo teddy for him.
Lauren told him: “Yep, all received. I sent it to the baby bank.” She went on to share: “You know, I look at Frankie and I see all the things I missed out on. Which is pretty much everything by the way.”
After she recalled her experience growing up, Reece said: “If I were that terrible, I don’t know why you bothered coming.” Lauren responded: “To tell you to your face that I don’t want you anywhere near Frankie.” Her father said: “You’re gonna deprieve him of a loving grandad?” Lauren replied in the scene: “I’m gonna keep him away from a racist pervert.”
Lauren went on to tell Reece – who suggested that he wasn’t her biological father – that she’s “building a family” and has friends who “have got her back”. As she left him in prison, she said: “Bye, Reece. You’ve got no idea what you’ve missed out on.”

Scott had teased that he would be reprising his role earlier this year. The actor shared a photo of himself in a dressing room on February 14, with him teasing in a caption over the selfie at the time: “I just love being bad.”
The photo showed Scott taking a photo in a mirror whilst sat at a desk. A mug with ITV’s logo was seen on the table alongside other items included a script.
Then, last month,he shared a photo that gave a glimpse of the blue jumper, grey trousers and yellow vest sported by his character in prison. A tag on them was labelled “Reece”. Scott wrote in the caption on March 14: “Coming soon.”
