Philoise lovers, stand up! Netflix dropped new Bridgerton Season 4 photos on March 28, and one of them may be a hint that Eloise and Phillip’s romance will be the focus of Season 5.
One of the photos released featured Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) walking through town together. Eloise is dressed in a long coat with a design similar to that of wood grain, while Penelope is wearing a pale pink floral coat. The wood grain detailing on Eloise’s coat has some Bridgerton fans convinced Eloise’s season may follow Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie’s (Yerin Ha) Season 4 love story.
Those who’ve read To Sir Phillip, With Love know that Phillip is a botanist who studied at Cambridge. He has a greenhouse at his Romney Hall estate, where Eloise goes to live after she and Phillip exchange letters.
Netflix has not confirmed who will lead Season 5, and the show hasn’t even been officially renewed yet. However, showrunner Jess Brownell has a game plan for the future. “Shonda and I have talked about who Season 5 is and who Season 6 is,” she told Variety. “We haven’t talked beyond that. If we are lucky enough to have a Season 6, we want to just have that plan, so we know where we’re headed.”
If the series followed the order of Julia Quinn’s novels moving forward, then Eloise’s love story would be next. However, many think Francesca (Hannah Dodd) could be the focus of Season 5, given that she married John Stirling (Victor Alli) in Season 3.
Do you think Eloise and Phillip’s love story will be the center of Season 5? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
