Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson team up to sing his hit song, “I Am Not Okay” during a special segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show known as “Kellyoke.”
Fans first got a glimpse into the performance when a behind-the-scenes sound check video was shared across the show’s social media platforms.
The pair of artists, who cleverly dubbed themselves “Kelly and Jelly,” shared a hug as they reunited on the small stage on set and then reminisced on their very first meeting at the past GRAMMYs ceremony.
Jelly Roll admitted that he “fanned out” over the songstress during the coveted event and was overjoyed to learn that she already knew who he was.
“I went and hogged her down and I was like, ‘Miss Clarkson, I am such a fan.’ She turned around and she said, ‘Hey, Jelly.’ I was like, ‘she knows me!’”
They got back to work, figuring out how they would tackle the duet together, where the harmonies would lie and when Clarkson would get to use her incredible vocals to belt out the lyrics.

Jelly Roll appeared to be filled with so much joy and excitement listening to Clarkson deliver his song in a whole new way and she matched that same energy as she gushed about the powerful tune. Penned by the Antioch, TN native with Ashley Gorley, Casey Brown and Taylor Phillips, “I Am Not Okay” paints a raw image of someone admitting their mental health is at an all-time low but continuing to hold onto the glimmer of hope that everything will work out in the end. The song appears on his latest album, Beautifully Broken.
“This song is so good. I’m so excited he’s allowing me to sing on his song, ‘I Am Not Okay’ and it’s so good,” Clarkson shared before adding, “I’m just a huge fan. I love authenticity and I love real messages. I. think that real s**t really matters.”
This isn’t the first time Clarkson has showcased one of Jelly Roll’s hits on her show. Back in February, she delivered an incredible cover of his chart-topping hit with Lainey Wilson, “Save Me” that earned rave reviews from Jelly Roll himself. He was quick to share his honest thoughts on the performance, claiming it moved him to tears.
“I would’ve never believed you if you would’ve told me that I’d write a song so impactful that incredible Kelly Clarkson would deem it worthy to cover,” he wrote on X. “Thank you Kelly- wow – I’m honored in a way I can’t even describe – I cried watching it.”
Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson’s official performance premiered during today’s episode at 3 pm CT on NBC and Peacock.
