Netflix star Andrew Liner has opened up about what it was like shooting Ransom Canyon, revealing that while there was plenty of drama on screen, the cast had their fair share of laughs behind the scenes. In an exclusive intervew with Express.co.uk he spoke about one particularly “hilarious” moment ahead of filming that left him in stitches.

He said that the cast had to go through an intensive training process for the Western drama, which involved learning how to ride horses and herd cattle. Liner continued: “So we had cowboy camp and Garrett [Wareing] and Jack [Duhamel] and I, we were there a lot. Lizzy [Greene] came a lot in the beginning, and Lizzy was on her horse and her horse was going a bit faster than she had wanted and she just like, I don’t know, Garrett and I saw her go and it was just the funniest thing, like we just busted out laughing.”

Thankfully she was able to get control of her horse and there were no injuries from the incident, but even now Liner can’t stop grinning as he thinks back to that moment.

“I mean, that was hilarious,” he chuckles. “It was amazing.” The actor went on to talk about how much he loved working with the horses on set, saying: “I’ve never been that, you know… connected to an animal like that and it was a beautiful experience.”

While some of his co-stars quickly settled into the saddle, it wasn’t so easy for Liner. He added: “Garrett took to it really fast, like second or third day, he was like, ‘Oh, I got this.’ I did not. It was hard for me… not necessarily the riding bit, which was tricky. The roping was really hard for me.”

Liner said the cast received proper training in everything from herding cattle to trotting, loping, and even hitting camera marks while in the saddle – which he pointed out is not an easy task for beginners. “So thank God that, or actually thank [livestock coordinator] Clay Lilley, that we were comfortable enough to do that,” he added.
