A 10-year-old boy has been taken to hospital in serious condition after being struck by a ute while riding an e-scooter.

Emergency services were called to Blaxcell Street, South Granville in Sydney’s west around 10pm on Wednesday, following reports of a pedestrian being hit.

The young boy was reported to be riding an e-scooter at a pedestrian crossing when he was hit by the car, police said.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The driver, a 29-year-old man, has also been taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
