A man who grabbed a teenage girl by the neck and pushed her face into the sand while he sexually assaulted her told her ‘stop, just five-minute sex’ as she tried to fight him off.

The 18-year-old was on her way to meet friends at an amphitheatre in Port Macquarie, on NSW‘s mid north coast, to watch a screening of the Matildas’ FIFA World Cup semi-final match against England in August, 2023.

As she was walking to watch the match, Bilal Jdid, 28, rode up behind her on a bike near a surf club and asked to take a photo with her.

The teen said she felt ‘uncomfortable’ but agreed to it because she thought he was a tourist.

Jdid asked if she was an Australian and if the teen was married to which she said no before adding she had a boyfriend.

He then grabbed her neck and shoulder and repeatedly insisted he just wanted ‘five minutes’ with the teenager who started to scream for help.

Jdid then pushed her off the footpath into the nearby sand dunes and sexually assaulted her.

The 28-year-old this week pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm and one count of sexually touching another person without consent.

Despite the teen begging Jdid to stop he repeatedly said ‘just five minutes’ as he shoved her face into the sand.

‘The victim can’t recall how many times he said it, as she was shocked and scared,’ court documents obtained by news.com.au said.

‘She could not get away from him because his grip was so tight.’

The assault lasted roughly five minutes before Jdid let go of the girl and she was able to flee across an embankment and over a wire fence.

Three bystanders came to her aid, one of whom gave her a ride to the local police station where she arrived with a bloodied nose and injuries to her neck, wrists, face and legs.

Jdid was arrested at his home one week after the attack.

During police interviews he said he had met a woman he ‘wished to commence a relationship with’ but that she had not given him her phone number when asked.

When asked by officers if he had kissed the victim or put his hand underneath her top, Jdid conceded: ‘Possibly, but nothing more than this.’

The woman was eventually able to escape and report the incident to police who arrested Jdid one week later

Jdid arrived in Australia from Lebanon in 2022.

Initially, he was released on bail in November 2023, but lasted no longer than a month before breaching its conditions.

The courts reinstated his bond after that but with stricter conditions before Jdid was taken into custody after entering guilty pleas in December 2025.

He will be sentenced on April 10.
