Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac has shared some happy personal news, revealing live on air that he and his partner, Rebecca James, are expecting their third child.

Mac told viewers James is currently 20 weeks pregnant, with the couple set to welcome baby number three in July.

“I wanted to share some personal news. I haven’t told anyone except the person who had to have a photo ready for this, but Bec is pregnant. We are expecting baby number three,” Mac shared.

The pair have once again decided to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, just as they did with their other children, Margot and Mabel.

“We didn’t find out with Margot and Mabel. I love the surprise element. So again, we’re not finding out,” Mac explained.

The announcement was accompanied by a sweet family photo, though Mac admitted the behind-the-scenes effort to secure it was no small feat.

“You think Kyle and Jackie O are having troubles with contracts. Try getting a three-year-old to pose in a photo,” he joked.

According to Mac, negotiations with three-year-old Margot included a cookie bribe, a bubble machine for distraction, and even the promise of a pony for her next birthday.

He also wore a bracelet on air as part of what he described as a “contractual discussion” with his eldest daughter.

After revealing the news on Sunrise, Mac shared a post to Instagram celebrating the milestone.

“Baby Mac #3 coming this July 🤍 The negotiations involved to get a 3-year-old to appear in a photo…Wowsers 😵‍💫 You’ll notice a bribery cookie, we had a bubble machine, I think at one point I even promised Margot a Pony 🙃 But we got there! Bec is doing so great & Mabel is super excited to get her turn at being a big sister! Bring it on 🤍” he wrote.

Mac and James have been together since 2020 and were engaged in 2023. They are already parents to Margot, three, and 18-month-old Mabel.
