Blake Shelton‘s return to TV is coming sooner than fans may think.
Back in November 2024, fans of The Voice alum were ecstatic to learn about his latest venture working on the small screen. Leaning into his reality TV roots once more, the country singer revealed he teamed up with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and fellow music sensation Keith Urban to executive produce a new CBS series called The Road.
With a documentary-style format, the show will follow an established musician (to be announced), as they headline a tour and attempt to discover the next big artist. What’s more, a press release at the time shared that “Singers will join the headliner on tour, performing as opening acts in venues across the country. They will compete to win over local fanbases to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour.”
While there aren’t many more details out about The Road, Blake did share an update on Instagram that’ll have fans marking their calendars. Posting a teaser snippet on Instagram on March 27, he revealed his return to television will occur in the fall of 2025. “#TheRoad to discovering America’s next big musician begins on CBS Fall and @paramountplus,” read the caption.

When fans saw Blake share a surprise clue about his latest TV gig, they immediately couldn’t wait to see more from him.
“I’m sure it’s going to be an amazing show, looking forward to seeing it.😍😍😍😍,” one person wrote in the comments. “I really love the concept of this show! So excited 🙌,” another agreed. “WOW this is so awesome 🔥 Cannot wait 😍,” a different follower added.
Now, as fans may remember, this isn’t the only time Blake has been on TV since leaving The Voice in May 2023. He also starred alongside Carson Daly and Nikki Garcia on the USA Network series Barmageddon, which ran for two seasons and saw celebrities go against each other to play a series of pub games for a cash prize.
As far as how Blake is feeling about working on The Road, he couldn’t be more thrilled about the prospect.
“I’m a big fan of Taylor’s incredible work, and I’m excited to team with him and my long-time collaborator, Lee [Metzger], on The Road,” he said in November 2024, per People. “I know a thing or two about singing competitions and what it’s like to chase a music dream and live life on tour. I’m looking forward to discovering new talent and giving them this platform.”
Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts have teamed to revamp Flatts’ nostalgic “Mayberry,” resulting in what a press release calls “a twangy, bright rendition of the 2002 chart-topper.”
The third release from the iconic trio’s highly-anticipated Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets album, “Mayberry” embodies the “refueled” theme, with steel guitar, breezy production, and the combination of Shelton’s signature baritone with the Flatts’ soaring harmonies – seamlessly blending their musical styles.
Joe Don Rooney said of re-creating the song, “It was so much fun playing with Blake again. He was on our first two tours with us back in the day, and it means so much that he wanted to do this project with us.”
He added, “He’s one of the best in the business. He truly owned this song…it sounds like a Blake Shelton record now!”
Recently nominated for ACM Group Of The Year following the overwhelming outpour of support for their reunion, Rascal Flatts is set to release their much-anticipated Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets collaboration album on June 6th.
