MGM+ is set to captivate audiences with its gripping new four-part limited series Vanished, premiering February 1, 2026, in the US (February 27 in the UK via Prime Video). Starring Sam Claflin and Kaley Cuoco, the thriller plunges viewers into a web of mystery when a romantic Paris getaway turns nightmarish after Cuoco’s character Alice wakes to find her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) has vanished aboard a train to the south of France. Created by Harlan Coben and adapted by Victoria Asare-Archer, Vanished promises pulse-pounding suspense, shocking secrets, and a descent into danger that tests Alice’s resolve—and sanity—as she uncovers truths about the man she thought she knew.

The official synopsis teases a classic setup with fresh twists: “When a couple’s trip to Paris takes a dark turn with the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend Tom aboard a train to the south of France, Alice is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.” Directed by Hans Herbots (The Serpent), the series blends psychological tension with scenic European backdrops—Parisian romance giving way to Provence’s sun-drenched but sinister vineyards.

Claflin, known for Peaky Blinders and Daisy Jones & the Six, brings brooding intensity to Tom, a charming architect whose disappearance unravels layers of deception. Cuoco, post-The Flight Attendant‘s Emmy-nominated success, surprises again as Alice—a quick-witted American expat turned amateur sleuth, her comedic timing sharpening the thriller’s edge. Supporting cast includes Rosamund Pike as a mysterious ally and Vincent Cassel as a French detective with his own agenda.
Early buzz praises the chemistry: “Cuoco and Claflin spark like flint on steel” (Variety). Fans eager for Coben’s signature twists—seen in Fool Me Once—won’t be disappointed.
Vanished isn’t reinventing the wheel, but with Cuoco’s evolving range and Claflin’s magnetism, it’s a chance worth taking. Stream on MGM+; the train leaves soon.
