Princess Charlotte, nine, is often seen out and about with her parents Prince William and Kate Middleton – and some Royal fans think they’ve spotted a secret battle between mother and daughter
The Royals are bound by a plethora of rules, dictating everything from their attire and speech to their behaviour and travel arrangements.
It’s been previously reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton maintain a strict household for their children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
Recently, Royal enthusiasts believe they’ve noticed a subtle tussle between Kate and her daughter Charlotte over the proper way to wear the young princess’s hair.
Captured at last month’s Trooping The Colour, Royal fans were thrilled to see Kate and her family in public following her cancer diagnosis.
The 42-year-old Princess took a necessary break from her Royal duties to focus on her recovery but delighted the public by appearing on the balcony with her family. During this appearance, a video was taken showing Kate repeatedly adjusting her daughter’s long hair over her shoulder.
One social media user observed: “Charlotte trying to wear her hair in front.” The post then showed a series of clips where Kate would gently move her daughter’s locks back over her shoulders. This sweet interaction between mother and daughter resonated with many fans who commented that it was exactly how they would behave too.

Another individual reacted to the video, saying: “This is literally me all the time and my mom just puts it back.” Another chimed in with: “Same Charlotte .. it shapes my face.” A fourth person commented: “My mom says it’s cause she wants to see more of my beautiful face.”
Some wondered if this was a ‘Royal’ rule to adhere to, while others believed it was simply a ‘mum’ thing. One person stated: “Let’s be honest… mothers do this regardless of being royal or not. They prefer it a certain way, they gonna make you do it.”
Despite having a nanny’s assistance, the Royal couple are still very involved with their children, reportedly enjoying activities like bike riding and baking. However, it’s not all play for George, Charlotte, and Louis as William and Kate have set some household rules at their Adelaide Cottage residence in Windsor – including one that must be obeyed at all times.
A source revealed that this rule is strictly enforced – there is to be no shouting in the house. The insider told the Sun: “Shouting is absolutely ‘off limits’ for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal.”
Instead of sending their children to their rooms or the naughty steps, the former Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opt for a ‘sofa chat’ when disciplining their kids. A source revealed: “The naughty child is taken away from the scene of the row or disruption and talked to calmly by either Kate or William. Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them.”
