Meghan Markle has said that her global power enables her to provide support and direct attention to designers and other people whom she admires.
The Duchess of Sussex told The New York Times that she knows that because of the “global spotlight” cast upon her attention to detail will be paid to whatever she’s wearing.
She added that this enables her to support designers and increase the exposure of their work as any photographs or video of her will go worldwide.
Meghan’s comments about her impact come as questions grow over the future of her current arsenal of projects with husband Prince Harry and it is yet to be revealed whether or not she will join the prince when he travels to New York next month.

On her global power, Meghan said: “Times where I know there is a global spotlight, and attention will be given to each detail of what I may or may not be wearing.
“[T]hen I support designers that I have really great friendships with, and smaller, up-and-coming brands that haven’t gotten the attention that they should be getting … that’s one of the most powerful things that I’m able to do, and that’s simply wearing, like, an earring.”
Whilst Meghan uses her global exposure to shine a light on the work of designers and entrepreneurs she admires, the Express has reported that she will not be travelling to New York with Harry next month.
According to a source who spoke to the Express, Meghan’s decision not to go will enable Harry to draw more attention to initiatives and other patronages close to him.

One source said: “Meghan doesn’t have to attend every event with her husband. If she skips an event, it doesn’t mean there is anything wrong between them.
“She’s happy for him [Harry] to take this one on his own to shine a light on what really matters to him.”
Although the New York trip will be an opportunity for Harry to draw attention to causes he cares about, a royal expert has suggested that he and Meghan have had to make one key adjustment in recent years and face one major issue.
Kinsey Schofield told GB News that the pair have had to grapple with a decline in popularity since their move to the USA. She said their “biggest issue” had been “realising there’s been a shift when it comes to popularity”.
Kinsey added: “Harry and Meghan believed their own hype when they said on that Netflix series that the reason they were ostracised was because they were much more popular than the British royals.
Royalists are very much tuned out when it comes to Harry and Meghan, not rooting for their success anymore, because they feel like they have been cruel and toxic towards the Royal Family over the last few years.”
This decline in popularity follows the reported struggles facing Meghan’s new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. A source told Closer that staff were struggling to find a chief executive.
The source said: “The numbers don’t lie and to have almost 20 members of staff quitting on them tells its own story. It’s unprecedented, even for a start-up.”
