Reports have suggested that Prince Harry is seeking one thing from his older brother – and is something that is said to be “stopping” him from making a return.

Prince Harry will not make a return to royal duties until after he gets an apology from Prince William, a source has claimed.

Sources close to Harry, who now resides in the US, state that he is happy with his decision to quit his royal role – but would return to “help out” and take on a short-term role if he was asked to by King Charles.

According to reports by the Mirror, Harry’s friends say that the Duke is eager to improve his relationship with his father – but would still seek an apology for his brother if he was to make a temporary return.

Harry and William have – according to the Mail – had no contact for months and currently have no contact.

Writing in his bombshell memoir Spare, Harry accused his brother of assaulting him during a physical confrontation and claimed that William had made comments about Meghan Markle – including referring to her as “rude” and “abrasive”.

Royal author Tom Quinn recently told the Mirror that Harry still expects a “grovelling apology” for the Prince and Princess of Wales – and is said to be feeling sad that his two children aren’t able to have a relationship with his niece and nephews.

Mr Quinn said: “He wants to reconcile with his brother so that the children can have some kind of a relationship, but he and Meghan still think that a grovelling apology needs to come from William and Kate first.”

He added: “Harry has spoken to friends about his sadness at not have a closer relationship with his niece and nephews, but what is upsetting him even more is the prospect of Lilibet and Archie having no relationship at all with George, Charlotte and Louis.

“He has implied that if he gets an apology from his family then he is prepared to forgive, but that just isn’t going to happen.”

The Duke of Sussex – who stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020 – is settled in California with his young family, the sources claims.

The source also claims that the father of two has an “amazing” new set of friends in the US and has several projects on the horizon.

These comments come as it was reported that Harry was reunited with his brother at their uncle’s funeral last week – although the pair did not speak to one another.

Sources shared how both William and Harry arrived “discreetly” and that you wouldn’t have known they had been present. It has also now been reported that Harry stayed at Earl Spencer’s home, Althorp in Northamptonshire during his visit.
