Carrie Underwood’s New Nickname, Courtesy of Luke Bryan, Is Too Cute to Handle

Luke Bryan is letting the world in on his wholesome nickname for Carrie Underwood.

Since the “Knockin’ Boots” crooner has gotten to know Underwood on a new level while both serving as judges on American Idol, Bryan revealed he has bestowed a new title upon the hit country songstress.

During a recent interview with Country Music Television, Bryan, 48, opened up about his experience working with Underwood, 42, on the singing competition show, revealing that the “Before He Cheats” singer has given him a run for his money when it comes to country music knowledge.

That’s why Bryan has officially dubbed Underwood the “country music jukebox.”

“I kinda pride myself on being a jukebox, but she is literally a country music jukebox,” Bryan revealed in the interview, which was posted to the CMT Instagram page earlier this week. “So when I start singing something, she jumps right in, no matter if it’s from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, present day.”

“She’s literally like a jukebox,” he added of the “Cowboy Casanova” songstress, who is the newest addition to the panel of American Idol judges, alongside returning veterans, Bryan and Lionel Richie.

Underwood, who joined the Idol judging panel for Season 23, returned to the long-running show 20 years after being a contestant, when she ended up winning the entire competition in 2005.

She replaced Katy Perry, who had served as a judge for seven seasons before announcing her departure.

Earlier this year, Perry, 40, shared how she really feels about her new replacement, stating in an interview that Underwood “was born on that show.”

“I think she knows how to steer it,” the “Firework” singer added. “She truly knows…what it feels like to be in their shoes. We could only metaphorically feel that as judges.”

Season 23 of American Idol is now airing new episodes every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Fans can also stream episodes the next day on Hulu.
