Virgin River Star Worries Their Character Might Not Survive Season 7

Virgin River star Lauren Hammersley isn’t too hopeful about the fate of her character Charmaine Roberts in season seven.

The hit Netflix show’s season six finale concluded with Charmaine’s ex-partner Jack heading over to her house to check on her after she failed to show up at his wedding to Mel.

However, he found the door ajar and house in disarray, before spotting something in the nursery that left him looking unsettled.

With Virgin River‘s seventh season set to begin filming this month, Hammersley took to Instagram to share a recent text exchange with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith about the cliffhanger.

Pressing him for answers on her character’s fate, she text him: “Am I dead? It’s okay if I’m dead I just need to know if I should start putting resumes out at Wendy’s or something.”

The actor also had a request if Charmaine’s death really is on the cards, adding: “So… IF Charmaine dies this year, could you please drown her in the river? I think that would be EPIC.”

This comes after Dan Brady actor Ben Hollingsworth shared that he and Smith have discussed their intention to produce a season eight.

“I just had a conversation with Sean and obviously, we need to be renewed for season eight, but he’s already thinking toward that,” he explained.

Smith also recently has teased the show’s planned spin-off series, which is set to focus on the relationship between Mel’s late mother Sarah and Everett Reid.

“It’s still in development, so I’m working on that now,” he told Deadline in December, confirming it would mostly take place in the 1970s.

Virgin River seasons 1-6 are streaming now on Netflix. Season 7 is in production.
