Virgin River fans threaten to quit the show — what’s making them so frustrated?

Virgin River viewers have been struggling to stick with the show due to some of the less realistic details of the plot and its turning them off from the series.

Fans of Virgin River have been left struggling with the plot as they consider giving up on the hit Netflix series.

The show has just been renewed for Season 7 much to the delight of fans who have been watching since its debut in 2019. However some viewers are struggling to stick with it due to certain aspects of the plot.

Virgin River season 4 episodes 1-12 recap: We all need a little help sometimes

The storyline has focused for several seasons on main characters Mel and Jack — played by Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson — as they navigate their romance and the usual trials and tribulations of a relationship. The pair are joined in the remote town of Virgin River by their friends, family and colleagues as the characters deal with everything from gang wars, domestic abuse, murder and more.

However, some of the slower sections of the plot – including one very lengthy pregnancy – have seen fans take to social media to share their frustrations and seek advice from other viewers on whether they should give up on watching entirely. One wrote on Reddit: “So I started Virgin River a few days back and now I’m halfway through season 4.

“The series started well, but I don’t know what to feel now. I want to finish it because there are a few cliffhangers every now and then. But I find the storyline toooooo long.

“I mean Charmine has been pregnant all this while and heck, why do they start a new episode on a totally different scene while the previous episode ended on a cliffhanger?! Thats so annoying.”

They continued: “SPOILER: I remember the episode where Lily dies and I think the next episode just started on a totally different topic..there are too many jumps between the stories but the pregnancies last forverrrrr!

“Somehow this is giving me a feel of Chesapeake Shore, which also had too many jumps in the plots with no flow in story.”

Commenting on the post another fan shared their view writing:”I felt similar! I just finished the series and I won’t spoil anything, but I definitely felt like the series had a much stronger start than the later seasons. I felt like the characters changed or maybe began to feel to one note around where you are now.”

A second said:”Agreed at the annoyance of ending on a cliffhanger and coming back to ….. oh, so that thing happened but we’ve jumped ahead of the conclusion of it.” A third contributed: “Be prepared for Charmaine to have the longest pregnancy in TV history.”

Another social media user concurred: “I agree. I felt the same way about Charmaines pregnancy. But just keep watching.” A fifth offered: “The jump to season 6 was so weird. Mel, Cameron, Doc and Muriel were discussing ideas for the future of the clinic.

“Episode one, the birth house was already built, Cameron dipped and Muriel was looking to date. I like to see the process of it happening. I love VR but this was so sad to see.”
