The Night Agent is answering the call: The hit spy series, which was renewed ahead of Season 2, has begun production on Season 3.
“We’re so excited to bring new thrills, new worlds, new stunts, new characters, and new adventures to our fans in Season 3,” series creator, executive producer, and showrunner Shawn Ryan tells Tudum. “We’ll be spanning the globe from Istanbul to New York to Washington, DC to Mexico City and even though we just started filming, we’ve already captured some of our biggest, most spectacular stuff yet. Thanks so much for devouring Season 2 and we look forward to bringing you a bigger and even better Season 3.”
Star Gabriel Basso — who plays the series’ titular action hero, Peter Sutherland — shared an update from the Istanbul set, which you can check out in the behind-the-scenes video above. “The energy’s good,” the actor says. “Everybody’s really excited so it feels great.”

The thriller was 2023’s most-watched series by viewers and is the seventh most popular English show of all time. Season 1 received 98.2 million views in just its first 91 days. The Night Agent reached the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 in 87 countries and was No. 1 on the Global Top 10 for four consecutive weeks.

Although you’ll have to wait for Season 3 to come calling, The Night Agent Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix. The story picks up after Peter’s efforts to save the president in Season 1 earned him the opportunity to become a Night Agent. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will push Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
