Shelton and Stefani have already worked together on several songs.
Blake Shelton is all about mixing business with pleasure.
The country superstar, whose new album, “For Recreational Use Only,” comes out May 9, says he can’t get enough of collaborating with wife Gwen Stefani.
“I don’t feel like I want to make a record without a duet with Gwen on it anymore. She’s my favorite person to sing with,” he told TODAY in an interview that aired March 19.
True to his word, Stefani appears on the song “Hangin’ On,” a track from “For Recreational Use Only.”
Stefani has three sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, and her kids have become interested in music. Shelton and Stefani have performed at the Grand Ole Opry, so could the kids, Shelton and Stefani all team up to perform at the iconic venue at some point?

“That would be a lot of fun. I know that that would be Gwen’s dream come true is to have, like, a family band or something like that,” Shelton said.
Shelton and Stefani met while working as coaches on “The Voice” in 2014. For the couple, who got married at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in 2021, recording music together has become a staple.
Shelton appears on the track “Purple Irises” from Stefani’s newest album, “Bouquet.”
Stefani told TODAY.com in January it was an “unexpected collaboration.”
“That was pretty special because, you know, everybody wants him,” she added.

In a press release about the track, Stefani said, “‘Purple Irises’ is a song that comes from the idea that when you plant something you are planting hope and watching love grow, weathering all the different seasons of growth. We are in this together, we planted the seeds together and we are growing together.”
Shelton added in the release, “We love this song so much.”
The pair have also teamed up on songs “Nobody But You,” “Happy Anywhere” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”
Shelton, meanwhile, will keep busy when he hosts “Opry 100: A Live Celebration,” which celebrates a century of the Grand Ole Opry. The special airs March 19 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
