LeBron James Issues a Warning to Michael Jordan Ahead of His Return to the NBA
The NBA world came to a standstill after the shocking announcement that Michael Jordan is returning to the league — and not in the way anyone expected. Shortly after the news broke, LeBron James stepped in with a clear warning for MJ regarding the new role he’s about to take on in the league.
After retiring from the NBA three times, Jordan made his comeback in 2010 — this time as the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets. However, that chapter ended after 13 years when the Chicago Bulls legend sold his stake in August 2023.
Still craving the thrill of NBA action, Jordan didn’t hesitate to accept a new offer from NBC to become a special contributor on its NBA broadcasts starting with the 2025–26 season.

“The NBA on NBC was a significant part of my career, and I’m excited to be a special contributor to the project. I look forward to seeing everyone when the NBA on NBC returns this October,” MJ said in a statement.
As Jordan’s return to the spotlight — now as a commentator and analyst — draws closer, LeBron James didn’t hold back. Speaking about Jordan’s era, he issued a warning, urging the legend to be cautious about the opinions he shares regarding today’s style of basketball in the NBA.
With two of the greatest players of all time standing on opposite sides of the mic, fans are bracing for fireworks as the NBA prepares for a new season full of nostalgia, tension… and unfiltered opinions.

“The older generation makes you not want to love the game I grew up watching. I grew up loving the playoff series between the Knicks and Bulls, or the Pacers and Knicks. I loved it. I’m from a small town outside of Cleveland, and watching the Cavs get a chance to play against MJ (Michael Jordan)… Obviously, I didn’t get to see it live, but everyone was excited about it. Watching Charles Barkley play in Phoenix, take his talents there and help them reach the Finals — that was fing awesome… But now, that generation talks so much st about today’s game that it makes you go back and rewatch those old games and not even want to appreciate them the way you did as a kid,”*
said LeBron on the podcast “Mind the Game.”
