When paramedics reached the scene near Mount French Rd, they found the woman, aged in her 20s, with critical injuries.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said she had suffered “significant head injuries”.
She was also reported to have suffered serious arm injuries after the fall, which happened while she was climbing with a group about 10.45am.
The rescue operation was complicated by dense bushland, which made it difficult for emergency crews to reach and extract her from where she had landed.

A rescue helicopter was sent from Brisbane, but the woman first had to be moved before she could be safely winched or loaded for evacuation.
She was eventually flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital shortly before 1pm in a life-threatening condition.
Footage aired by 7News showed emergency crews gathered at the base of the mountain, while people were seen inspecting climbing routes from the bottom of the cliff face.
