It’s safe to say that the show has gone down well with viewers, with some binge-watching all eight episodes in one day.

The Guardian handed out three stars, describing the show as “a cosy world full of faith, hope and the American way,” while Variety hailed it as a “charming reimagining,” adding: “The show is slightly slow at the start, the childlike whimsy and robust themes are as resounding today as they were 150 years ago.”
