MUR-DER CHARGE AFTER MIDNIGHT HORR0R: WOMAN, 27, FOUND DE-AD IN BEDROOM AS POLICE REVEAL HER SUSPECTED KI-LLER WAS A FORMER PARTNER
A man has been charged with murder after his ex-partner was found dead at a home south of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a Rowanda Street property in Slacks Creek near Logan at about 12.30am on Wednesday in relation to reports of an alleged assault.
A Woody Point woman, 27, was found unresponsive in a bedroom at the the home but could not be revived.
A Slacks Creek man, 37, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with murder (domestic violence).
The man and woman were believed to have previously been in a relationship.
‘Police received a phone call from a man reporting that an unresponsive female was at his address following an assault. Police arrived at that location within minutes,’ Detective Inspector Ian Galpin told reporters.
‘I can confirm that the man and woman are known to each other. From our preliminary investigations I would suggest that at one point they were in a relationship.
‘The reason she was at that particular location is still under investigation but it will certainly form part of our investigation.

‘What I can tell you is that within the last 10 days, police did have contact with this woman in relation to domestic and family violence related issues.’
It’s not known how long the pair had been separated for.
The home has been declared a crime scene as a homicide investigation was launched.
Detectives and forensic officers remained at the cordoned-off home on Wednesday.
‘This investigation is in its very early stages and we currently have a team of detectives from the Logan criminal investigation branch and the homicide investigation unit working tirelessly now to identify the circumstances leading up to this woman’s death,’ Det Insp Galpin said.
‘Our preliminary investigations would suggest this woman died of asphyxiation.’
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.
Police assured that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
