A KIND FATHER GAVE SOMEONE A ROOF OVER THEIR HEAD—NOW HIS FAMILY IS DEMANDING ANSWERS AFTER HE WAS ALLEGEDLY STA-BBED TO DE-ATH IN HIS OWN HOME

A homeowner stabbed during a tenancy dispute has been identified as a kind-hearted father who had temporarily invited one of his alleged killers to live with him.

Andrew Duncan Murray, 66, was fatally stabbed at his home on Lubach Street in Logan, south of Brisbane, about 4.45pm on Tuesday.

Lindsay James Kohn and Jillian Greer Francis fronted court on Wednesday after being charged over the alleged attack.

Kohn, 47, was charged with murder while Francis, 43, was charged with one count each of murder, acts intended to maim/disfigure/disable and contravention of a domestic violence order related to Kohn.

Police allege Mr Murray had invited Francis to live with him four months ago to help her out while she searched for more permanent accommodation, 9News reported.

Francis then invited Kohn to stay with her at Mr Murray’s home.

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin claimed Mr Murray had repeatedly asked the pair to leave, but they refused.

Mr Murray returned from work to his home on Tuesday to find they had locked him out.

He reportedly kicked down the door and was confronted by Kohn and Francis. He was then allegedly stabbed during the fight.

Several neighbours ran to help the 66-year-old, who was well-known on the street.

One witness recalled a neighbour ‘screaming for help’ after seeing the victim ‘bleeding out’.

‘There was an altercation with the roommates who were asked several times to vacate the premises, they wouldn’t leave,’ he said.

‘I have come up, opened the gate and seen (the man) lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds in his lungs, multiple stab wounds in his back.

‘Two police officers then attended the scene and they’ve rushed in, tried to help him, do CPR, tried to work on him, but then they lost him.’

First responders at the scene found three people trying to help Mr Murray, but he could not be revived.

‘During this incident, a neighbour entered the property, disarmed the woman, separated the parties, and provided first aid to the 66-year-old man,’ Insp Galpin said.

‘I’d just like to take this opportunity to acknowledge his actions and the support that he provided to this man at this time.’

Francis is also accused of attacking a neighbour who tried to take a knife from her.

Insp Galpin added Francis and Kohn were previously in a relationship, but didn’t clarify whether they were together again.

Mr Murray’s neighbours remembered his kindness and adventurous spirit.

‘He was a fun-loving, caring guy, down to earth,’ Matthew John Lloyd Sellars told 9News.

‘I’ve known him for the last 20 years. We’ve been close mates.

‘He’d do anything for anyone. He was always out to help anyone.’
