The ex-husband of former Miss Universe Australia Olivia Molly Rogers has failed to pay back almost $500,000 he was found to have pilfered from his former employer.

A civil court ruled Justin McKeone misappropriated $481,490.33 during his five-month tenure as Head of Finance at Rocket Brands (Cozmic Sales Pty Ltd).

In March last year, the Supreme Court heard McKeone blew the cash on an epic booze, drugs and gambling spree and was allegedly ‘sleeping in the work toilets’.

He was also taking excessively long lunch breaks, and frequently leaving the office without completing his duties, the court heard.

McKeone was ordered to pay $556,698.50 including interest and costs after it was found he had breached his contract and his fiduciary duty, causing the firm damage.

He had not been in court to hear the allegations after he appeared to vanish off the face of the earth, sparking concerns for his well-being when he could not be found.

However, the Daily Mail revealed McKeone had actually moved back to his home state of Western Australia, where he was found safe and well.

But a year after McKeone was ordered to repay the cash by the Supreme Court, it can now be revealed he is being pursued for the money in the Federal Circuit Court.

Last year’s orders coincided with the conclusion of a lengthy police investigation, which saw McKeone charged with more than 100 offences related to obtaining financial advantage by deception from his former employer.

Rocket Brands has now lodged a creditor’s petition seeking ‘a sequestration order .… against the estate of Justin McKeone’ for the full amount of the Supreme Court judgment plus an additional $63,346.02 in interest, The Age reported.

The petition claims McKeone was served with a bankruptcy notice on March 20 and had failed to comply with the requirements of the notice before April 10.

Associate Justice Ian Irving had previously stated McKeone had an obligation to repay Rocket Brands.

‘None of these transactions were authorised or approved by Rocket,’ Justice Irving said.

‘Mr McKeone admitted that he had stolen the money at a meeting with Mr [Matthew] Holmes, sole director of Cozmic Sales Pty Ltd, held October 14, 2024.

‘Mr McKeone’s bank statements show that on each occasion he received the money he misappropriated from Rocket, he used the money almost immediately for his own personal purposes.’

The court was told McKeone joined Rocket Brands in March 2024 on a $200,000-a-year salary.

But just weeks into his probationary period, the court was told staff raised concerns about his erratic behaviour.

The records showed McKeone had a little over $1,000 in his account when he was accused of taking more than $6,000 in his first four thefts from his bosses.

Barrister Kieren Hickie, for Rocket Brands, branded it a ‘spending spree’ which did not end until McKeone’s erratic behaviour sparked the owner’s investigation into the company’s finances.

‘[He’s] going on a spending spree for his own personal purposes, depleting his account down to nearly zero,’ he said.

McKeone’s boss reported the alleged theft to Victoria Police on October 14 2024, sparking a 15-month criminal investigation.

McKeone last year revealed he was expecting a child with The Bachelor Australia 2021‘s Tahnee Leeson, who he had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with since his split with Molly Rogers.

Molly Rogers has since pinned a series of posts on her Instagram account, with 350,000 followers, revealing her relief over ending her relationship with McKeone.

‘Starting again might be the scariest – and best – decision you ever make,’ she said.

Olivia Molly Rogers hit social media to address her miserable marriage to McKeone

‘At 30 I left my marriage, unsure of what life would look like. I was scared, anxious, hurt and embarrassed – I didn’t know what my life would look like on the other side.

‘But I trusted that I deserved more … Leaving is hard. But staying in the wrong relationship is harder.’

The couple had wed in early 2022, only for the marriage to crumble in October of that year after eight months.

McKeone will return to court for the criminal matters on June 5.

The creditor’s petition is listed to be heard in the Federal Circuit Court a week later.
