Blake Shelton, who is a stepdad to the No Doubt singer’s children with Gavin Rossdale, also earned praise.
Gwen Stefani proudly gushed over her husband, Blake Shelton, on Father’s Day. The singer kept her message short and sweet, yet filled with memories.
Taking to Instagram, Stefani shared a carousel of photos of her children with Shelton and her father, Dennis Stefani. Stefani is mom to three sons: Kingston, 19, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.
However, Gossdale was not mentioned in the Father’s Day shout-out or featured in any of the photos.
“Happy Father’s Day, Dad and @blakeshelton!! we love u so much,” Stefani wrote as her caption.
The comments section was flooded with critics taking aim at Stefani for not acknowledging Rossdale in the social media share. Others, however, were quick to show love to their girl, jumping in to defend her decision.
“I love everything about this. What an amazing picture it shows true love,” wrote a fan, while another one shared, “Happy Father’s Day Love the pic and all the love you both show your children. We lead by example.”
A different fan expressed, “A father figure isn’t always determined by blood. It is Love that beyond everything. This family portrait really makes me happy.” One fan stated, “@gwensteani your kids are beyond blessed to have Blake.”
“Happy fathers dayyy to ur dad and to the cowboy ❤️ ur family is beautiful and blessed,” was another comment. A fan also stated, “Such a beautiful family with magnificent memories.”
More comments read, “A father has nothing to do with blood, and everything to do with the heart of a man,” “Blake has brought so much to Gwen’s boys that would not have been possible otherwise. What a good man!” and “Happy fathers dayyy to ur dad and to the cowboy ❤️”
