In an exclusive moment filled with love, laughter, and a few baby giggles in the background, Fox News’ White House correspondent Peter Doocy and his wife, Fox Business reporter Hillary Vaughn, have opened up about life after welcoming their second child — and their dreams of expanding their family even further.
“There’s a lot of noise in D.C.,” Hillary smiles, cradling newborn George Jack as Peter gently bounces their toddler daughter Bridget on his knee.
“But in our house, it’s the kind of noise we wouldn’t trade for anything.”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, celebrated George’s birth just one day before their wedding anniversary — a poetic reminder, they say, that “some of the best things in life show up right on time… or a few contractions early.”
A House Full of Heartbeats
“Bridget ran into the hospital room shouting, ‘Baby brother! Baby brother!’” Peter shares with a laugh.
“She tried to give him a sippy cup before we even got a diaper on.”
While the couple is known for their high-pressure roles on the frontlines of American news, at home, they’re just Mom and Dad — juggling diapers, coffee refills, and bedtime stories squeezed between briefings and interviews.
And now, as their hearts — and arms — fill up with love again, they’re already thinking ahead.
“We both came from close-knit families,” Hillary says softly. “And we’d love to raise one of our own. Maybe three kids… maybe four.”
She glances at Peter, who grins: “We’ll take them one at a time. But yeah — we’re just getting started.”
Juggling Headlines & Bedtime Stories
Peter, known for his sharp White House questions and steady on-camera demeanor, admits that fatherhood has softened him in unexpected ways.
“I used to carry a notepad and a mic. Now I carry teething rings and extra socks. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The couple says their shared passion for journalism helps them stay grounded, even in chaos.
“We know what pressure looks like,” Hillary adds. “But we also know what peace looks like now — and it’s a sleepy baby snuggled between us on the couch.”
Looking to the Future
With two little ones under three, life is “beautifully chaotic,” as Peter puts it. But despite the long nights and early calls, both say they’re cherishing every second.
“We know these years fly by,” Hillary says, holding George a little closer.
“And when we look around one day at a dinner table full of little voices and big stories — we’ll know we built that. Together.”
As for what’s next?
“Well,” Peter grins, “we may be outnumbered someday. But that’s a headline I’m ready for.”
