He’s the first to receive the honor live since Carrie Underwood in 2010.
We’re just days away from the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards, and of all the entertainers set to be celebrated during the milestone night of music, Keith Urban tops the list.
On Monday, May 5, the Academy of Country Music, Prime Video, and Dick Clark Productions revealed that the 57-year-old country singer will receive the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award during the ACM Awards, which takes place on Thursday, May 8, at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. To celebrate his big moment, the 60th ACM Awards will feature performances of Keith’s most popular songs by Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney, and Brothers Osborne.

The ACM Triple Crown Award is awarded to those who have won three monumental awards: New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. While Keith won these awards quite a while ago—Top New Male Vocalist in 2001, Male Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2006, and Entertainer of the Year in 2019—he will be celebrated live in front of fans, fellow musicians, and viewers at home during the 2025 ACM Awards. This honor marks the first time the ACM Triple Crown has been awarded live during the ACM Awards since Carrie Underwood won the coveted title in 2010. This is an important distinction, as many other chart-topping artists have been awarded the ACM Triple Crown at the ACM Honors, including Lainey Wilson in 2024, and Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton in 2023. And this Thursday, Luke Combs could win Entertainer of the Year, potentially nabbing him a Triple Crown Award for 2025.
All in all, the 60th ACM Awards are bound to be an entertaining night of country music. The ceremony will stream live, exclusively on Prime, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.
