A surprising new YouGov poll has revealed that the Princess of Wales is the second most popular member of the Royal Family as the Prince of Wales takes the top spot. The pollsters surveyed 2,222 British adults from May 6-7, 2025 and revealed the interesting results on May 14.

The new data shows that favourability towards Prince William and Princess Kate remains high as usual. The popular pair tops the list as three-quarters (75%) of Britons have a positive opinion of the heir to the throne, and 72% feel favourably toward the princess.

As well as including several other members of the Royal Family in the ranking, the poll shows that Meghan Markle’s popular touch is at an all-time low as she has recieved her lowest rating yet.

The poll revealed that the Duchess of Sussex’s UK popularity is at its lowest point since it started being tracked in 2017.

Currently, 20% of Britons have a positive view of her, while a huge 65% see Meghan negatively.

It’s only a slight change on the previous survey results conducted between 20-21 February, which saw Britons have a 21% positive view and 65% negative view – but it’s the lowest ever recorded.

Prince Harry was also affected, as only 27% of Britons have a positive opinion of him, with 63% having a negative view – his worst score since early 2023.
