Taylor Swift fans are buzzing with a new theory: the pop star may have made a secret cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 — dressed as a bear.

The speculation began after Netflix released a behind-the-scenes clip from the comedy sequel, featuring Travis Kelce in a bizarre scene where he’s tied to a pole, wearing only a black apron and covered in honey — and approached by a bear. The moment occurs during a fantasy sequence from Bad Bunny’s character, Oscar, a busboy imagining his “happy place” where Kelce’s character, his abusive boss, faces a wild (and sticky) punishment.

Some viewers believe Swift is the person inside the bear costume.

“They should’ve dressed Taylor as a bear for an epic surprise,” one fan wrote in the comments.
Netflix responded with an eyes emoji 👀, adding fuel to the theory.

“Y’all, I will NEVER NOT believe that bear was THE @taylorswift,” another fan declared.
“Taylor we know you’re in the bear suit 😭,” someone else chimed in.
“Who was the bear???? ….could it be….Tay….Tay,” another comment read.

Honey, Clues, and Kelce

The theory gained more traction after Swift shared glowing praise for the film last week. She posted Happy Gilmore 2‘s poster on Instagram Stories, writing:

“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible 🍯.”

The honey pot emoji seemed like a nod to Kelce’s sticky scene, and fans immediately made the connection.

At the film’s New York premiere on July 21, Adam Sandler was asked about Swift possibly being involved.

“We didn’t want to bother Taylor. Just let Taylor entertain the world like she does,” he told Extra.
He added, “I listened to ‘All Too Well’ three times in a row with my kid. She’s done a lot for our planet, so we love her.”

Swift previously met Sandler and his daughters Sunny (16) and Sadie (19) at the Los Angeles premiere of her Eras Tour film in October 2023.

“Taylor is incredible,” Sandler told Entertainment Tonight. “Taylor is so damn nice to my family and has always been. My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm.”

As of now, there’s been no confirmation from Swift’s rep regarding her potential bear cameo — but that hasn’t stopped fans from sleuthing. And in true Swiftie fashion, they’re holding onto their honey-coated theory.
