‘Fackham Hall’ Trailer: Damian Lewis, Thomasin McKenzie, Katherine Waterston & Tom Felton Star In Jimmy Carr’s British Period Spoof

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if “Downton Abbey” collided with “Airplane!,” look no further than “Fackham Hall.” The new British period comedy, directed by Jim O’Hanlon (“Catastrophe,” “A Touch of Cloth”), finally has its first trailer — and it looks to be an irreverent, full-throttle spoof of upper-class excess, complete with scandal, murder, and teacup-snorting laughter.

Set in an opulent English manor, “Fackham Hall” follows lovable pickpocket Eric Noone (played by Ben Radcliffe) as he cons his way into employment at the aristocratic Davenport estate. There, he falls for the lady of the house, Rose Davenport (Thomasin McKenzie), but when a mysterious murder upends the family’s reputation, Eric finds himself framed for the crime. The ensemble also features Damian Lewis as Lord Davenport, Tom Felton as Eric’s conniving rival Archibald, and Katherine Waterston and Emma Laird in supporting roles.

Created by renowned comedian Jimmy Carr, who co-wrote the script with Patrick Carr and the Dawson Brothers, the film aims to channel the zany, rapid-fire energy of “Airplane!” and the absurdist wit of the “Monty Python” movies. Carr also appears in a supporting role.

“Fackham Hall” is produced by Kris Thykier and Danny Perkins under their new banner Mews Films, alongside Mila Cottray for Two & Two Pictures. Executive producers include Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson for Bleecker StreetBabak Anvari and Lucan Toh for Two & Two Pictures, Danielle Brandon and Georgia Goldsack for Archery Pictures, and Nick Shumaker and David Levine for Anonymous Content. The project is fully financed by Ashland Hill Media Finance, with The Veterans handling international rights.
