A massive cast shake-up for Emmy Award winning series The Pitt amid turmoil centered around star Noah Wyle including ugly bullying rumors.
Supriya Ganesh, who has portrayed senior resident Dr. Samira Mohan since the beginning of the series, will be exiting the highly-popular HBO series at the conclusion of season 2.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Ganesh for comment and have yet to hear back.
In addition, Ayesha Harris, who plays senior night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis, will be promoted to a series regular beginning season 2 according to Variety on Thursday.
A source for the publication ‘with knowledge of the situation’ indicates that Ganesh’s, 28, exit is a decision that has to do with the storyline.
As The Pitt takes place at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, which is a teaching hospital, it has been said that it is normal for residents to come in and out.

Season 2 has also featured Dr. Mohan weighing her options for the next phase of her career after her residency ends.
Her character is a third-year, and later fourth-year, medical resident trying to find balance between diligence and speed.
Ganesh has been a staple of the series as she has appeared in all 28 episodes of The Pitt so far.
Meanwhile, Harris will see an increased role on the series as she starred in four of the 15 episodes in season 1 and season 2, respectively.
It is an interesting point for the show as last month Daily Mail published an article regarding the secret turmoil of leading actor Wyle, 54.
It has been said that Wyle has been battling struggles behind-the-scenes, with comments from one of his co-stars dredging up historic bullying allegations from his days on ER, and a lawsuit claiming The Pitt is a ‘copycat’ of the show that made his name.
Regardless, The Pitt has been a standout success for HBO as it has received both critical praise and several awards.
The drama has earned five Primetime Emmy Awards including an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series gong for Wyle and top honor Outstanding Drama Series.

Wyle’s protagonist character is Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch who is a senior physician who is still reeling from his traumatic experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He previously starred on aforementioned iconic medical drama ER over 254 episodes from 1994 to 2009.
Each episode of The Pitt covers one hour of a 15-hour shift at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
The show takes place in Pittsburgh, with the title nodding to both the location and a nickname for the hospital’s emergency department.
Other cast members include Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez.
The Pitt airs Thursday nights on HBO and streams simultaneously on HBO Max with the season 2 finale airing on April 16.
