It’s not going well for Astronomer CEO Andy Byron. Right after being caught cuddling with the company’s chief human resources officer, Kristin Cabot, on the kiss at Gillette Stadium during a Coldplay concert, the tech titan has been accused of being a terrible boss. Former employees of the New York-based software firm are believed to be having a time of their lives while Byron, who is married, is presumably wallowing in misery.

In light of his newfound infamy, the awkward Coldplay concert moment appears to have prompted a wave of excitement among those ex-employees who feel they were wronged by the man who was once their boss. A source, who at one point would report directly to Andy Byron, text groups and chains bringing former employees together have been lit up with a new spark of enthusiasm since Byron’s little incident at the July 16 concert in the US.

Former Astronomer employees ‘enjoying’ watching old boss Andy Byron in misery

“…everybody’s laughing their a** off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed,” the source spilled to the New York Post. They further went on to lay out that Andy Byron can be “toxic” in the workplace, given his alleged aggressive and sales-obsessed attitude.

Since the video of Byron and Cabot’s jumbotron moment has gone viral, speculations surrounding their lives have become the topic of the hour. It has also been noted that despite their supposed romance being caught on camera, the Astronomer CEO is actually married to someone else – Megan Kerrigan Byron. With claims of infidelity already working against the man, “toxic” boss allegations are not going to make his path moving forward any easier.

Andy Byron, a ‘toxic’ boss at his previous company too?

In addition to The Post‘s amplifying the accusations made by a former Astronomer colleague only adds to what a 2018 investigation published by The Information peeking into Byron’s stint as chief revenue officer at Cybereason appears to have established. As also quoted by Marca.com, the report suggests that people weren’t happy with his previous leadership role from 2017 to 2019 either.

While an ex-employee at Cybereason claimed, “You couldn’t question him,” another said that Byron’s leadership resulted in severe pressure to be “the fastest growing company.” Many are believed to have quit due to his alleged inclination to foster a toxic work environment.

The report also indicated that Byron replaced supposedly low-performing employees with loyal salespeople from his previous firm, Fuze. “Multiple former employees said Mr. Byron would lash out against employees who disagreed with him, including threatening to fire them,” the exposé added. An employee still linked to Cybereason at the time of the coverage said, “People loved the company. Now they hate it.”

However, the man himself denied any misconduct, saying that he was driven by delivering on “tough decisions” at Cybereason.
