Connor Tomlinson is starting a new chapter.
After appearing on three seasons of Love on the Spectrum, the 27-year-old reality star will not be returning to the series for the fifth season. He confirmed the news to Variety on Friday, April 3, just days after the release of season 4.
“It is with humility and a heavy heart that I share I will not be partaking in Season 5,” Connor shared. “I feel like three seasons is enough to tell my story and find love on my own time.”
“I’ve chosen to pass the torch to the next person who can make it as big as me,” he added, going on to thank the members of the crew who helped him share his story: “I want to sincerely thank Cian, Sean [Bowman, casting producer], and the entire crew for changing my life over the past three years.”
The news of Connor’s departure came the same day Netflix announced it was renewed for another installment. According to the streamer, season 5 of the Emmy-winning series “will follow a group of neurodivergent daters as they navigate the confusing world of relationships. By learning the inexplicable rules of dating (rule No. 1: don’t say ‘I love you’ on the first date) and embracing the many intricacies of communication styles and sensory sensitivities, the romantic hopefuls offer an unfiltered look at life and love on the spectrum.”
Why is Connor Tomlinson leaving Love on the Spectrum? Here’s everything to know about his exit.

In his statement to Variety, Connor revealed his plans for his future ventures, which include pursuing a career in acting.
“Don’t worry about me — I’m still going to be in the acting business, especially voice work,” he said. “I’ve always been a huge fan of animation and would love to be involved with a TV show.”
Last month, Connor opened up to PEOPLE about his dream of becoming an actor, teasing his goal to “get a platform, be an inspiration to others and, well, personally, I’m actually hoping to get into show business myself. Voice acting, in particular.”
“Make myself up the tiers to an A-list celebrity, be one of the greats,” he continued, joking that he is “maybe C+ at most” right now.
“Honestly, I just like the fact that I get to show the world who I really am and what I really like. And I feel like it’s made me think this has really opened some doors for me. I feel like I can do anything. Now that everyone knows me, I feel like I could make something of myself.”

Connor first joined the series for season 2, which premiered in January 2024 and saw him make his debut into the world of dating. He told PEOPLE that his life has changed significantly in the years since.
“I feel like I’ve grown greatly as both a TV star and as a man,” he said. “I never even dated before going on that show. I was always too afraid, too nervous that I’d say the wrong thing and it would derail the whole thing. Now I feel my confidence is soaring.”
He also reflected on the exciting opportunities he has had due to his participation in Love on the Spectrum, such as getting to present at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys alongside former cast member Tanner Smith. Another memorable moment was attending the How to Train Your Dragon premiere last year, he said.
“I got to meet so many great people there, such as Dean DeBlois,” Connor recalled. “He’s a great man. He really is. He’s been a big inspiration on my life since 2010. Got to meet Gerard Butler, Nick Frost.”
“I was surprised that Mason Thames and Nico Parker, the lead actors, the lead stars of the movie, they were fans of mine,” he added. “I was surprised they even knew me. I’m honored as well.”

In season 4 of Love on the Spectrum, viewers watched Connor navigate his relationship with Georgie one year into dating. When they traveled to London together, he began to question their compatibility, admitting that her sarcastic humor “feels pretty mean sometimes.”
He later revealed that they broke up off-camera shortly after returning from their trip, sharing the news with his fellow other cast members at Madison and Tyler’s engagement party in the finale episode.
“We reached an understanding,” Connor explained. “We’re two wonderful people, but two very different people and that’s okay. That’s why we date, for either a reason, a season or a lifetime. We just weren’t cut out for each other.”
“Firstly, this was the longest we spent with each other on a date,” he said. “And, well, I was just blown away by the fact I was in London. I mean, the last time I was there was just for one day and I barely got to see all the great landmarks, like Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and, of course, Buckingham Palace.”
“But I noticed Georgie didn’t seem as hyped by this as I was,” he continued. “And, well, that made me concerned. Anyone else would’ve thought themselves blessed to be here.”
Connor’s sister, Anna, then suggested that he and Georgie had a “disconnect in interests” that became more clear on the trip. He acknowledged: “Yeah, that’s why we date.”
