Clarkson shared a look into her family life as she welcomed A Minecraft Movie co-stars Danielle Brooks, Jack Black and Jason Momoa on Thursday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she got the chance to praise their work in the upcoming family-friendly film in person.

“It was kind of a dark week for me and my family, and I got to preview the movie with them,” she shared. “It was such an exciting thing. So I just wanted to say thank you. It brought my kids out of, like, a sad time to like, just a normal kind of time.”

Clarkson is the mother to daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 8.

While she did not elaborate on the specifics of her and her family’s troublesome time, Clarkson continued singing A Minecraft Movie‘s praises, noting that “it’s such a great film.”

“And that’s the reason why I love it, cause it’s like a family film. Everybody can watch, it makes you feel good,” she added. “It’s inspiring, it’s creative. Well done on the movie. It’s so good.”

In March, Clarkson was recently missing from her daytime talk show, with guest hosts Brooke Shields, Molly Sims, Willie Geist, Wanda Sykes, Roy Wood Jr., Andy Cohen, and Kal Penn stepping in for her in recent weeks.

Sources told TMZ that Clarkson was fine despite her absences, but was navigating a “personal matter” not directly involving her.

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs on weekdays. Check out their website for your local listings. A Minecraft Movie hits theaters on Friday, April 4.
