Kate Middleton has awkward run-in with ‘handsome’ ex-boyfriend at Peter Phillips’ wedding

Prince William and Kate Middleton were among the guests at a lavish Cotswolds wedding, where she reportedly crossed paths with ex-boyfriend Rupert Finch.

Kate Middleton found herself face-to-face with her former boyfriend, Rupert Finch, at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling this past weekend.

The 44-year-old Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, attended the lavish ceremony in the Cotswolds, England, united in their support of Peter, who is the Prince of Wales’ cousin.

Kate, who recently made the joyful announcement that she is cancer-free, looked stunning in a beige boucle-knit Roland Mouret dress, paired with a chic matching hat and heels, while William opted for a classic morning suit. Her trademark brunette locks were styled in loose, flowing curls that cascaded gracefully over her shoulders, perfectly complementing her radiant complexion. It comes as King Charles set out his one condition before seeing his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

Rupert, who attended alongside his wife, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, also dressed in a traditional suit, while Lady Natasha looked elegant in a blue floral dress.

Joining William and Kate among the royal attendees were Peter’s sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, along with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne.

The ceremony, held at All Saints Church in the village of Kemble, represented Peter’s second marriage, following his divorce from Autumn Kelly in 2021 after 12 years together.

Kate and Rupert, 47, were romantically linked in 2001 while both were students at St. Andrews. In fact, during the now princess’ memorable 2002 fashion show appearance, where she wore a sheer mini dress and reportedly captured Prince William’s attention, she was believed to be seeing Rupert.

According to Tatler, Rupert “was reportedly her casual boyfriend and a tall, dark, and handsome aspiring lawyer in his fourth year at St Andrews” during that period.

The relationship was depicted in the sixth and final season of Netflix’s The Crown, with Oli Green portraying Rupert and Meg Bellamy playing the then future Princess of Wales.

The former couple has kept quiet about their previous relationship, with Rupert once stating, “It’s not something I’ll ever talk about. It’s between Kate and me and was a long time ago.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales went on to date for nearly a decade before getting engaged in October 2010. They married in a stunning royal ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, with Rupert among the guests.
